Folding@home

Folding@home (FAH or F@h) is a distributed computing project for simulating protein dynamics, including the process of protein folding and the movements of proteins implicated in a variety of diseases. It brings together citizen scientists who volunteer to run simulations of protein dynamics on their personal computers. Insights from this data are helping scientists to better understand biology, and providing new opportunities for developing therapeutics.

Contributing to the Folding@home project is free and easy. After downloading & installing the F@H client, the web client allows you to easily control how much CPU power will be dedicated to folding. You can set it to only run when your computer is idle, or you can have it run at full power!

During setup, you will have a chance to pick a name and enter a team number. Picking a name will help you track your stats. Using a passkey is highly recommended.
