Pokemon Go Fest will take place on July 25 and 26 from 10 am to 8 pm each day. Tickets are on sale now for $14.99 and can be purchased from the in game shop. One ticket will grant you access to both days of the event. Unlike previous years, the event will take place entirely online. Because of this, there is no limit on the number of tickets and you will be able to participate in the event from anywhere.

There will be two special research stories that you will have access. You will have to open the game on each day of the event to start the special research story.

Each day there will be rotating habitats featuring Pokemon themed around fire, water, grass, battle, and friendship. Habitats will rotate each hour, so that each one is featured twice. There will be a total of 75 unique Pokemon featured.

Ticket holders will also have access to the Global Challenge Arena. The Arena will feature a new task for each hour during the event. Players around the globe will have to work together to complete the challenges. Progress can be tracked in game and once a challenge is completed a bonus will be unlocked for the remainder of the hour.

I has also been announced that the Mythical Pokemon Victini will also be available during the event. Victini will likely be the reward for completing one of the special research stories.

New Map: Silver Ridge Peaks

The latest reserve coming to theHunter: Call of the Wild has just been announced. Silver Ridge Peaks is a massive hunting reserve located in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. It will feature at least 5 new animals and a new type of bow.
Check out these highlights from the Expansive Worlds live stream, featuring Flinter.
They start by showing off the new Alexander Longbow that comes with the Silver Ridge Peaks DLC. It looks to be an extremely accurate bow, allowing you to take precise shots without a scope. Then some highlights from Pronghorn and Turkey hunting. Flinter takes some up-close shot with the new longbow, and also puts his muzzle loader to good use. You also get a quick look at the newly added Mountain Goats. Finally, they take down some epic Rocky Mountain Elk and Bighorn Sheep.
Bow hunting may not be my cup of tea (mostly due to a lack of skill and practice), however I am still exited to try out the new DLC for myself. From the small glimpse you get from the video, it looks like Expansive Worlds did a great job capturing the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. It is a very large map, full of life, and I cannot wait to explore!
Update: The release date has been announced - Tuesday, June 23, 2020

Pokemon Go adds Stickers to Gifts

The latest update has added stickers to the game. These stickers can be attached to gifts as you send them to your friends. Stickers are completely aesthetic, adding no benefits to the gift they are sent with.

The game states that you can receive stickers from gifts or purchase them in the shop. However, I have not seen any available for purchase in the shop at this time. According to Serebii, there are currently 8 different stickers available; featuring Pikachu, Raichu, Ditto, Squirtle, Charmander, and Bulbasaur.

New Gaming PC Build

4/12/2020

My current PC, although upgraded over the years, is almost 10 years old. I have decided now is the time to start fresh and build a dedicated Gaming PC. I will continue using my old PC (along with an Elgato HD capture card) to handle live streaming, as it features a capable FX-8600 "eight-core" processor.  You can take a look at my part list below and expect a follow-up post showing off the completed build.

Gaming PC Part List

Picture
Intel Core i5-9600K 3.7 GHz 6-Core Processor
I was originally looking at the 8-Core i7-9700K. However, the i5-9600K seems to be a far better value-per-dollar while still being a high-performance processor. It is unlocked for overclocking up to 4.6GHz.

be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 50.5 CFM CPU Cooler
The Dark Rock Pro is a large and powerful cooler. It is rated for 250W TDP to keep the system cool while achieving peak CPU performance.
Picture
ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming 4 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
A high-performance gaming motherboard that simply meets all of my needs. It is the perfect base for my build, and leaves plenty of room to expand.
Picture
Team T-FORCE VULCAN Z 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
Quick. Stable... and Sexy!
Picture
Intel 660p Series 512 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive

Picture
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6 GB WINDFORCE OC 6G Video Card
The GTX 1060 may be out classed by some of today's top GPUs, however it is still a very powerful graphics card. Eventually it can be upgraded to get the best performance out of today's video games.
Picture
Fractal Design Meshify C ATX Mid Tower Case
The case is simple, yet stylish featuring a tinted tempered glass side window. It is a spacious case allowing for high airflow (and my massive CPU cooler).

Corsair RMx 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
Corsair's RMx power supplies are powerful, efficient, and quiet featuring  Japanese capacitors for improved reliability.

Check out these epic games!

This video by Gameranx goes over 10 games where YOU ARE THE BOSS! All of the games on the list are pretty epic, but there were a few that stood out to me. These three are personal favorites of mine, and I highly recommend you check them out:
  1. Saints Row IV
  2. Just Cause 3
  3. Prototype 2
I was also happy to see Crackdown get an honorable mention from Gameranx. I have not played the latest Crackdown game, but it brings out my nostalgia for the original games. In fact, I made a handful of Crackdown 2 videos about 9 years ago. My review of the Toy Box DLC was relatively successful for my channel.

Extra Life

1/8/2020

I want to say a big Thank You! to everyone who supported me during Game Day and donated to Extra Life in support of my local CMN Hospital. Together we raised $116 for the kids in 2019!
I have created my Extra Life page early in hopes of collecting some donations all year long. This year, I am initially setting my goal to $200.00. I'm considering setting up incentives and milestones this year. If anyone has any fun (and reasonable) ideas, please let me know. If you would like to contribute, you can click the Make a Donation button to the right.
The official Extra Life Game Day is November 7th, 2020. I will likely be scheduling my 24-hour stream on that weekend. Once we are a little closer to Game Day, I will announce my plans. I hope to do another continuous 24 hour stream, if my schedule allows for it. Last year was my first ever 24 hour stream! In previous years, I broke the stream up into a few streams over the weekend.

Keep an eye on my Extra Life 2020 page for updates!
I have also created an Extra Life team. If anyone is interested in raising money with me, check out the Spartan Squad on Extra Life.  Maybe we can even collaborate our game day streams!
